Program Vision and Mission

The General Surgery Residency Program at St. Joseph Medical Center aims to provide top-notch patient care and serve the community with highly skilled and compassionate service. We focus on training surgeons in general surgery while also stressing the importance of dedication to patient well-being. Our goal is to equip our residents with a wide range of skills across various surgical disciplines, enabling them to offer comprehensive care to patients with diverse surgical needs. Residents gain practical experience and enhance their skills through rotations under the guidance of experienced faculty. We emphasize the importance of excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork in health care. By concentrating on these aspects, our program enables residents to become not only highly skilled but also compassionate surgeons who make a lasting positive impact on their patients and communities.
