Our team

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is home to some of Puget Sound’s most trusted women’s health providers. Patients speak highly of their experiences with our team. They feel listened to and engaged in their care, which can lead to better outcomes.

Our specialists include:

  • Our surgeons are part of a team that delivers nationally recognized breast imaging services. They provide advanced testing and treat noncancerous concerns, such as benign breast lumps, nipple discharge, high-risk lesions and breast pain.. Our experts perform comprehensive exams before recommending surgery and tailor their approach to your needs. Meet our breast health experts.

  • Our board-certified nurse midwives have advanced midwifery training. They help women who wish to give birth without pain medications and work closely with obstetricians for a safe experience. You can also receive general gynecologic care, including annual exams and help with issues such as heavy periods. Meet our certified nurse midwives.

  • Some family medicine providers have additional training in obstetrical care, meaning they deliver babies. This type of provider helps you receive more of the services you need from one doctor. They also provide other women’s health services, such as Pap smears, treatment for general health concerns like colds, and preventive care. Meet our family medicine physicians.

  • When medical therapies aren’t successful, you may benefit from the services of our highly skilled surgeons. We use the best available techniques, including minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. We also offer in-office hysteroscopy, which uses a thin tube with instruments at the tip to access the vagina without incisions. View a list of gynecological surgeons.

  • Gynecologists deliver effective, personalized care for issues such as heavy periods, menopause symptoms and painful sex. You can come to them for age-appropriate screenings and preventive services, including pelvic and breast exams. They also offer a range of birth control options. Select a gynecologist.

  • Obstetricians (OBs) specialize in the medical and surgical care of the female reproductive system. They provide comprehensive maternity care that includes careful monitoring of women with high-risk pregnancies. You can also receive well-woman care when you are not pregnant. Meet our obstetricians.

  • Our team includes experts in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. Many are advancing the field through research and have decades of experience. They offer advanced care for issues such as leaks (incontinence) and pelvic organs that slip out of their natural position (prolapse). You have access to sophisticated in-office procedures and the latest surgical options. See a list of urogynecologists.
