Ferowsi Pecoraro is the Residency Program Director for the PGY1 pharmacy residency at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health – St. Joseph Medical Center. She is also one of the regional Oncology Pharmacy Supervisors supporting pharmacy services for inpatient oncology at St. Joseph Medical Center and five hospital-based infusion clinics. In addition to these roles, Ferowsi is a credentialed provider within the Franciscan Gynecology Oncology Clinic. Ferowsi graduated from Washington State University with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Wash. Shortly after, she moved to New York and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital as an oncology pharmacist. Ferowsi returned to Washington and in 2006 became the Oncology Pharmacist Specialist at St. Joseph Medical Center where she helped to grow clinical pharmacy services to support the oncology service line, as well as expand the oncology pharmacist’s role. Ferowsi has always been passionate about her role as a preceptor and educator, most recently serving on the board of directors for Western States Conference and currently volunteering as an ASHP mentor for pharmacy students. She has been a guest lecturer for oncology pharmacy courses at Washington State University and Pacific University. She is board certified in oncology and has practiced in this area for the past 19 years, sharing her knowledge with pharmacy residents and students. Ferowsi is a preceptor for oncology rotations in both the acute care and ambulatory care residency programs. Her other interests include transitions of care, precision medicine, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in health care. She is a member of HOPA, ASHP, ACCP, and WSPA.
