Chief Resident Welcome

Hello and welcome to St. Joseph Medical Center Virginia Mason Franciscan Health!

I am both proud and happy to be the chief resident for the 2024-2025 academic year.

I grew up in the dusty streets of the South (Oklahoma to be precise) and moved to Pakistan for my medical school. I was fortunate enough to train at one of the finest academic institutions, King Edward Medical University, and then came to the wonderful state of New Jersey to do my residency. I completed residency at Rutgers NJMS-Trinitas Regional Medical Center, class of 2024. Working in a large institution with a high acuity of care, I gained both the independence and clinical nuance necessary to be a good IM physician. And now I’m most excited to take you on the journey of residency!

Our core values here at St. Joseph are compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration. We strive to make you the best that you can be in this residency program. Our residents are both clinical educators and leaders in the fields which they will enter. Though we are a relatively new program, you will find in us the ethos of hard work and dedication. You are representative of the values we ascribe to and as such are our representatives in the world. We work hard and play hard, with a lot of focus on resident well-being and wellness opportunities. I hope to see you on the interview field and hope you will add to the family atmosphere we have here in the Northwest.
