Bruce Robertson, LICSM

Bruce Robertson was the first social worker licensed in Washington state in 1987.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in 1969 and his Master in Social Work from Washington University in 1976.

His post-graduate education includes a Master’s in Law and Social Policy from Bryn Mawr College in 1986.

He has been on faculty with the University of Washington School of Medicine since 1993.

Bruce designed and executed an innovative, virtual reality-based project to address nightmares related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He has developed proposals to extend the application of this virtual immersion therapy, based on the concepts of autonomic regulation training and neuro-physiological diversion, to chronic pain and addiction.
