Our Level II Special Care Nursery provides care for babies born down to 32 weeks. We partner with board-certified pediatricians, Seattle Children’s Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers, and Specialty-Trained Neonatal Registered Nurses who provide 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week care for ill newborns in this dedicated unit.
We designed our birthing suites for your comfort and privacy during all stages of birth—labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum. Our spacious, beautifully decorated suites provide a soothing setting that includes:

St. Francis Hospital is among America’s Best Maternity Hospitals according to Newsweek magazine. In addition to high-quality maternity and childbirth services, we also deliver exceptional postpartum care. We are among a select few programs in the region to maintain this honor.
The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®) have recognized St. Francis Hospital for excellence in lactation care.
We are proud to use a model of care called “TeamBirth,” which centers you in all health care decisions made throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum. TeamBirth uses frequent “huddles” to make sure everyone knows what is happening and why – at every step of the way.
Patients love the TeamBirth model because if a decision needs to be made, it doesn’t happen at the nurses' station; it happens in your room. If you don’t understand something, you have a chance to clarify things with your whole care team during huddles. This not only involves you in all decisions, it leads to better communication all around, which results in better care for you and your baby.
