Join us for a group online course to help understand your habits and improve overall health.

Improve your health by better understanding your habits. Join us for a Lifestyle Habits Workshop series where we will help you:

  • Assess your lifestyle and understand how to shift your mindset
  • Learn how habits can play an important role in life
  • Develop an individualized plan to help you achieve your goals

Workshop details

This is a 6 week online course.

The first three classes are an introduction to Habits and Growth Mindset.

The second three classes are focus sessions that you can choose from:

  • Healthy eating – Sessions focus specifically on how eating habits are unique, what makes them challenging, including emotional eating, how to notice our patterns, make changes in the unhealthy patterns, and celebrate our healthy patterns and successes.

  • Exercise habits – Sessions focus on the 3 pillars of habit (context, reward, and repetition). Planning our exercise habits with focus on those 3 pillars helps us make a plan for the long term. And one that is fun!

  • Healthy emotional habits – There are specific skils and practices that we can focus on to help improve the quality of our emotional lives. They encourage stress management, cognitive practices, cultivating healthy emotional responses, self-awareness, and relationship skills. We all benefit from focusing on these habits, which play a major role in our happiness and quality of life.

  • Smoking cessation – Sessions make use of the research on habits, to help a person who desires to quit smoking succeed. It's a difficult habit, but there is research and steps that make this process more successful.

Workshop leaders

Susan Thomason, MD

Dr. Thomason has believed that lifestyle habits are one of the most important factors in all of our health. She is excited to start the course that has been years in the planning! She specializes in family medicine and enjoys her patients of all ages.

She is especially excited by how much all of our lives can be changed by how we live, both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This course is the outcome of many years of conversations with patients, attending lots of lectures, and reading research. She loves the model of breaking down our patterns into habits, and how that simplifies the otherwise overwhelming task of "changing our lifestyle." Learn more.
