The Down Syndrome Program at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is passionate about optimizing physical and mental wellness for all people with Down syndrome and celebrating their individual strengths. Typically, people with Down syndrome have a primary care provider and go to a separate Down syndrome clinic for health maintenance and specialty needs. By comparison, the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health program brings essential services into one convenient location. For families who live outside western Washington, we are pleased to offer consultative services.
The Down Syndrome Program at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health welcomes referrals from primary care physicians as well as parents and caregivers. Primary care services are based in Issaquah. Telehealth services are available for families residing in Washington.
Our program collaborates with several specialists who are passionate about caring for people with Down Syndrome and who directly communicate with your primary care team. Radiology, laboratory, audiology, sleep medicine, nutrition, and adult and pediatric podiatry and ophthalmology are immediately available at the Issaquah medical center.
