Physical medicine and rehabilitation is a medical specialty dedicated to assisting patients with physical, psychological, cognitive, or communication problems. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health offers both inpatient and outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation services, and our department takes pride in our internationally recognized research in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), neurological rehabilitation, and pain management. 

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health offers a coordinated team approach to rehabilitation. We offer individualized treatment options, as well as several integrated programs, with a full range of services.

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health doctors and physical and occupational therapists evaluate and treat patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal diagnoses, including neck and back pain, overuse disorders, joint injuries, and headaches.

Specialized therapy is offered for cancer survivors, including lymphedema management to treat swelling in the arms.
