Home medical supply

For our patients receiving care at home or in rehabilitation or nursing facilities, we deliver home medical supply services for a variety of needs. We’re dedicated to providing the best possible care for people throughout the communities we serve—wherever they receive care.

Durable medical equipment (DME)

At Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, we provide medical supplies and DME for patients who have a variety of conditions. Our products include:

  • CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machines
  • Hospital beds
  • Ostomy and urological supplies
  • Supplies for people with diabetes or lymphedema
  • Wound care supplies
  • If you or a loved one has lymphedema (swelling caused by fluid buildup in arms or legs), we can help. Working with your physician and physical therapist, we help stop progressive damage and improve your comfort and quality of life. We offer over-the-counter (OTC) and custom compression stockings, wraps, and pumps.

  • We can help you select the appropriate type of wound care supplies for even the most hard-to-heal wounds, by home delivery or mail order.

  • We offer our patients a convenient, streamlined process for ordering sleep therapy supplies and equipment such as CPAP machines.

mobileRx

When you need a prescription refill, you want fast, convenient service that fits your busy schedule. At Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, we offer an online prescription refill service, mobileRx, backed by our experienced pharmacists.

Fast, convenient online prescription refills

You can request prescription refills anywhere, anytime using your Internet-connected device. mobileRx is available online through our:

  • Free smartphone app for iPhone® and Android™ phones
  • mobileRx website using any browser on your tablet or computer

To get started, just enter your pharmacy’s phone number (10 digits, area code first, no spaces or dashes).

Both the mobileRx app and website feature:

  • Express refills—Our service allows you to refill three prescriptions at a time and repeat if you have more to refill. The app or website notifies you immediately if your prescriptions are accepted or if there is an error in the refill request.
  • Scan a prescription—Entering your prescription numbers is easy, with a scanner that reads the barcode on your prescription label. Just scan the code with your phone’s barcode reader, and click “Submit” to request a refill.
  • Pharmacy information—If you’re picking up your prescription at the pharmacy, you can quickly find your pharmacy’s address, phone number and Google map and directions. You can also change your chosen pharmacy.
  • Active Rx and Rx history—Get important prescription details right at your fingertips in your Patient Profile, including:
    • Active Rx: A list of all your prescriptions currently available for refill.
    • Rx history: Details about past prescriptions, including dosage and the date of your last refill.

Transfer your prescriptions

Discharge medications

When you are discharged from the hospital there can be many changes made to your home medicines. These changes are very important and can help prevent a readmission to the hospital. If you have questions about your discharge medicine list, contact your doctor's office to review these changes.

Planning for your medications after hospitalization

Your doctor has written a prescription for the medication you will need once you leave the hospital. We suggest that you or a family member fill the prescription(s) at the pharmacy you most frequently use. Your pharmacy will have a record of the other medication you are taking and can advise you on drug interactions, track refills, and provide other helpful information. Please be sure that the person picking up your medications has your insurance card and is prepared to pay for the prescription or any co-pay fees.

If you have questions or problems getting your prescription(s) filled, please contact your doctor's office.

Safely disposing of medications

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health collaborates with MED-Project to provide an avenue for the community to dispose of medications. We’ve installed MED-Project kiosks in all our locations where patients, family members, and the community can safely dispose of unwanted or expired medications.
