How do I know if Virginia Mason Franciscan Health accepts my insurance plan?

Virginia Mason Medical Center accepts many types of insurance plans, including Washington State Health Plans. Depending on your insurance, an insurance approved referral or insurance approved authorization may be required before receiving services.

Things to do before your appointment

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health follows the standards of care and informed consent guidelines recommended by the WPATH and ask that you have all required clinical documentation and meet criteria before scheduling your consultation or at the time of your consultation, depending on the services.

We make every attempt to increase access for care, the clinical documentation we ask for is to help meet coverage criteria set by the insurance companies. This will help ensure your visits are valuable and make moving forward with insurance authorizations easier. You may be required to provide additional letters based on your individual insurance policy.
