Michael Nuara, MD, is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in surgery of the nose and ears; facial nerve reconstruction; microtia reconstruction; facial cancer reconstruction; and gender affirming facial surgery.

Dr. Nuara is a member of several committees and co-chair of the facial reconstruction subcommittee within the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Medical Association, American Society for Cosmetic Surgeons, Northwest Academy of Otolaryngology and Washington State Medical Association.

Dr. Nuara serves as a clinical instructor with the University of Washington Otolaryngology Residency Program and Program Director for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. He is a manuscript reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He also volunteers for medical missions abroad as a cleft lip and microtia surgeon.

Away from work, Dr. Nuara enjoys cycling, photography, nature and cooking.
