Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) continues to lead the way in patient safety, with five of its hospitals earning 'A' safety grades in the Fall 2023 Hospital Safety Grade Report by Leapfrog Group. This recognition reaffirms their unwavering commitment to patient safety and the delivery of high-quality care in the Pacific Northwest.
Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle proudly stands as the only hospital in Washington state and one of a select few nationwide to consistently achieve straight A's since the inception of the Hospital Safety Grade program in 2012.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on the prevention of hospital medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system – A, B, C, D or F – is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
